MOJOKERTO - Kepolisian mengakui kondisi Tol Surabaya - Mojokerto (Sumo) tepatnya di sekitar lokasi kejadian kecelakaan maut yang menewaskan istri Kapolres Tulungagung minim penerangan.


Kasatlantas Polres Mojokerto AKP Edwin Nathanael mengakui beberapa titik di sekitar lokasi kecelakaan minim penerangan sehingga ketika malam hari cukup beresiko.

"Memang ada beberapa sisi penerangan yang belum, nanti akan kami sampaikan ke pihak tol. Karena faktor lampu penerangan sangat diperlukan," ujar Edwin, saat dihubungi Okezone, Jumat (28/9/2018).

Dia pun menghimbau, kepada seluruh pengendara yang melintas Tol Sumo untuk berhati - hati terutama ketika malam hari. "Imbauan kami apabila mengantuk, istirahat dulu. Untuk kecepatan sesuaikan saja dengan petunjuk di tol," pesan Edwin.

Menurutnya, sejak diresmikan Presiden Joko Widodo tahun lalu memang di ruas Tol Sumo belum seluruh ruas tol mendapat penerangan yang cukup sehingga rawan terjadinya kecelakaan terutama pada malam hari.

"Untuk laka tol sebenarnya jarang. Karena pengendara sudah waspada. Kebetulan ada satu ini," tegasnya.


Sebelumnya, mobil pribadi Toyota Land Cruiser Nopol AG 908 RS, yang ditumpangi Kapolres Tulungagung AKBP Tofik Sukendar beserta istri dan ajudan mengalami kecelakaan maut di KM 716.600 Tol Sumo, tepatnya di Desa Sidorejo, Kecamatan Jetis, Kabupaten Mojokerto, pada Kamis sekira pukul 23.30 WIB.

Mobil melakukan perjalanan dari arah Surabaya menuju Jombang, sesampainya di lokasi kejadian, mobil hendak menyalip sebuah truk dari sisi kanan.

Namun diduga karena supir mengantuk mobil oleng dan menghantam pembatas jalan tol. Akibat kecelakaan tersebut istri Kapolres Tulungagung Anggi dan ajudannya Bripda Lutfi tewas seketika. Sementara Kapolres Tulungagung sendiri dalam keadaan kritis dan dilarikan ke rumah sakit.
